Teeth Whitening Makes You Look Younger & More Attractive

One of the most obvious signs of aging is stained yellowish teeth. Image experts all agree that whitening your teeth and smile is one of the fastest ways to look younger and improve your appearance.

You’ve probably already tried whitening toothpaste, and like most people you found it doesn’t transform the colour of your teeth. Come in and see us for a professional teeth whitening treatment that actually works. It’s like waving a magic wand, with each treatment your teeth will be noticeably whiter.

So looking better and brightening your smile is as simple as making an appointment and coming to see us. Your bright healthy smile and confidence is our goal at Total Dental Care Maroubra.

How Effective Is Teeth Whitening?

The degree of whitening will vary from patient to patient. As you can imagine the more discoloured and stained teeth are, the longer they will take to respond and whiten. We take before and after photos for you so you can clearly see the positive improvements.

How Long Does The Whitening Last?

While teeth whitening can last for many years, there are lots of factors that determine how long your teeth will stay bright and white. Primarily it depends on the quality of the individual’s oral hygiene. Regular dental cleans will help keep your teeth white for as long as possible.

Once you’ve had professional teeth whitening you can help maintain the results with tooth whitening pastes and whitening mouth rinse.

Regular brushing is always important but essential for preventing stains on your teeth.

Smoking and certain foods and drinks, like red wine, coffee, cherries and beetroot, can cause teeth to become discoloured. Other foods help keep your teeth whiter like apples, pears, cucumber, celery and carrots.

A regular dental visit for a check-up and clean must be scheduled at least once a year.

Dental Veneers – Maroubra Dentist

What Are Dental Veneers?

Veneers are restorations added to the front surface of the tooth to mask the underlying enamel and improve the appearance of your teeth and smile.

Veneers are perfect for hiding stained or damaged teeth, hiding large gaps between teeth and for covering crooked teeth. Veneers can restore a beautiful, natural appearance to your smile.

Looking After Your Veneers?

Veneers can last a long time but a lot depends on how you take care of them. You must maintain good oral hygiene brushing and flossing twice a day as you would with normal teeth to keep your gums healthy and free of bacteria. You also need to keep up your regular dental examinations.

It is very important to refrain from biting into hard food like apples. Instead, cut these foods into mouth-sized pieces and refrain from chewing on hard items like pens and pencils.

If you want your Veneers to last a long time, you need to take care of them. A visit to the dentist for a check-up and clean must be scheduled at least twice a year.

Dental Crowns - Maroubra

What Is A Dental Crown?

A crown is a tooth-shaped cover that is placed over a tooth. If you have a damaged, decayed and broken tooth, a crown is a cap that goes on the damaged tooth. It restores its natural shape, size and function, and provides a beautiful natural appearance.

A crown makes a damaged tooth stronger and improves its appearance. It is also a good way to cover a badly shaped or discoloured tooth, and after root canal treatment a crown is often used to help strengthen the tooth.

A crown is commonly used when a tooth has a large cavity and there is not enough of the natural tooth left to securely hold a filling.

Each crown is individually handcrafted by our dental technician to create a healthy, natural look, which also sits comfortably with your bite.dentist maroubra

Brighten Your Smile

Having a full set of clean, straight teeth brightens your smile and improves the quality of your life. Even if you only have one visibly damaged tooth it will negatively affect your confidence and appearance.

Covering a damaged tooth is particularly important in the front of your mouth. Obviously the more visible the defect, the greater impact it has on your smile and natural appearance.

With a dental crown your smile and tooth function will be more natural. The result is increased comfort and confidence when smiling, speaking, and eating.v

Our goal at Total Dental Care Maroubra is to give you a beautiful, healthy and confident smile.

Good oral hygiene and regular dental exams are necessary to prevent further problems.

Dental Bridges - Maroubra

What Is A Dental Bridge?

Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. A bridge replaces the missing tooth or missing teeth and restores your smile, the ability to chew and the ability to speak properly.

A bridge is permanently anchored in place by an implant or by a crown on the teeth that are either side of the gap. Another benefit of having a bridge is it supports the natural teeth that are adjacent to the gap, stopping them from moving.

Each bridge is individually handcrafted by our dental technician to create a healthy, natural look and sit comfortably with your bite.

Our goal at Total Dental Care Maroubra is to give you a beautiful, healthy and confident smile.

What’s The Dental Bridge Procedure?

Getting a bridge requires at least two visits, but often more.

Step 1:

During the first visit, we will prepare the teeth either side of the gap and cover them with temporary crowns. This process includes removing a portion of enamel from each of the teeth to allow room for a crown to be placed over them.

Step 2:

The first appointment also includes making impressions of the teeth so the dental laboratory can create the bridge.

Step 3:

During the first visit we will make a temporary bridge for you to wear to protect the exposed teeth and gums while your bridge is being made.

Step 4

During the second visit your temporary bridge is removed and your new permanent bridge will be fitted. Adjustments to your bridge will be made to ensure a proper fit.

Step 5

One or more follow-up appointments will be required to check the fit and your bite; adjustments will be made where necessary. Once the fit is perfect the bridge will be cemented in place.

NOTE: If you want your Bridge to last a long time, you need to take care of it. A visit to the dentist for a check-up and clean must be scheduled at least once a year.

Good oral hygiene and regular dental exams are necessary to prevent further problems.

Gum Lifts – Maroubra Dentist

What Is A Gum Lift & Gum Surgery?

dentist maroubra

For patients who have excessive gum tissue, it affects their smile (gummy smile) and their confidence. By simply reducing the gums and exposing more of the patient’s teeth, the appearance of their smile is transformed.

Having a gum lift (gingivectomy) is a cosmetic dentistry procedure to reduce excessive gum tissue and expose more of the tooth. Gum surgery is typically only required on the front teeth.

If you have a gummy smile or an uneven or imbalanced gum line, then contact us today to find out about your options and how we can help. Our goal at Total Dental Care Maroubra is to give you a beautiful, healthy and confident smile.

What Is The Gum Lift Procedure?

Don’t be alarmed, it’s a simple and painless procedure performed using a soft tissue laser. We gently remove excess gum tissue, improve the shape of your gums and then seal your gums without any bleeding. There are no cuts, incisions or stitches.

By removing the excess gum tissue, you’ll achieve an attractive natural smile.

The entire procedure is virtually painless. If you experience any pain after the gum lift procedure, it should only be minor and last for a few days. Simply take painkillers, but do not exceed the maximum dose.

Having excess gum tissue is usually a genetic problem, it’s not your fault. So come in and discover how we can help transform your smile.
